Lying in bed Tuesday evening, listening to my satellite radio which was tuned into the 80s channel, I heard a song from the British band Def Leppard, and it got my mind to thinking.
Photograph.
It's a simple as that one word for our beloved hobby.
Someone out there, somewhere, has taken a photograph.
Sometimes, the photograph shows intensity:
Maybe the photograph shows some poetry in motion:
How about a photograph of how we interact with wildlife??
Baseball photography can even reveal hypnotic powers....
Still yet, poor attempts at imitating an iconic US figure are revealed with photography
Sorry Carl, but those whiskers need to be longer and a little more gray for you to look like Uncle Sam |
Finally, sometimes photography reveals that sometimes players just don't want to be pictured out on the battlefield.
Matt's contract didn't call for an actual public appearance on the diamond |
All in all, isn't the photography why we really chase the cards? Well, maybe the older guys will remember the days before we had certified autos/jersey/serial numbered parallels in packs.
The photograph was really all we had back then.
Thanks for reading, Robert
Whenever I think of Def Lepard, I think of...
ReplyDelete"THE DRUMMER FROM DEF LEPARD'S ONLY GOT ONE ARM! THE DRUMMER FROM DEF LEPARD'S ONLY GOT ONE ARM!"
Great. This is the third blog comment in a row now that has gotten just as many dumb songs stuck in my head.
