Inbound and Down #25: Graphers Delight

The power of the blogosphere.  It's funny what happens when you start writing, isn't it?   You meet people from far and wide that you never thought possible.  Cards flow in from many different sources.  People think of you when they see cards come out of packs instead of what is being added to their collections.

I recently received an email, out of the blue from Mike at the Graphers Delight blog.  Now I have mentioned in the past that obtaining autographs through the mail or in person hasn't been my cup of tea, but there are a lot of people out there who are doing it, and doing it quite well.  Mike's blog is one of the best I've seen on this aspect of collecting.

It appears that Mike is strictly limited to hockey autographs (nothing wrong with that), but has a wide array of blog posts which you can easily look at as they are sorted by team.

Mike deals strictly with base cards when sending off for autographs, and he had a few extra OPC cards from this year's set to send my way.

An assortment of minis to start, the only one I couldn't fit on the page was the black bordered Mitch Marner that he added with this group of stars.

Love, love, love these playing cards.  I really would love to put this insert set together.  I don't remember the last time I may have mentioned this on the blog, but I dealt in a casino for 4 years quite a long time ago, and I've always enjoyed anything that deals with a deck of cards.  No small potatoes in this group of 4 as well, all of them big names.

I mentioned that I enjoyed the team checklists in this year's set, and Mike made sure to send me a half dozen.  I believe that the Bruins and Sharks are retro versions, which is cool.

Shiny!!  Mike also included 10 rainbow foil parallels, the only one not being scanned was the Braden Holtby league leaders card.  Love how these scanned, the blue background really pops out.

I was not aware that there was a foil version of the playing card set, but this card educated me quick.  The back is black instead of red just in case you're not able to tell the difference (although if you can't there may be other issues to explore).

Mike, thank you for the great package.   It is really appreciated!!

Thanks for reading, Robert
